Dr. Rebecca Dempster
Psychologist, Internal Family Systems Therapist
I specialize in helping people process difficult emotions, recover from trauma, and find clarity in challenging times. My therapy approach is Internal Family Systems, which helps you connect to your inner core and bring harmony to your system and your life. I take a systems-aware approach, recognizing how structural biases impact our mental health. More than anything, therapy with me is about what works for you—creating a warm, collaborative space where you feel supported and can move toward healing at your own pace. I offer both weekly sessions and therapy intensives.

  • Specialties: Trauma, burnout, stress, anxiety, suicidal thoughts & self-harm

  • Approach: Compassionate, structured, and tailored to your needs

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. Here’s what happens after you reach out:

An initial connection : We’ll start by understanding your needs and challenges to ensure that we can help you. If it seems like a good match, we’ll book a session. If we believe we’re not the best match, we’ll gladly help you find the support you need elsewhere.

A safe, supportive space: In your first session, we’ll explore what’s bringing you here and how therapy can help.

A plan that fits you: At the end of the first session, we’ll work together to decide next steps, whether that’s therapy with us or finding you another option.

You’re not committing to anything long-term. This is just a starting point.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Common Questions

  • No, you can decide session by session. You may find relief after one or two sessions or decide to work on deeper healing through longer-term therapy. It’s up to you.

  • That’s okay! The first session is a chance to explore. We’ll talk it through so you can make a decision about what’s right for you.

  • We’ll talk it through in the first session. If we’re not the right fit, we can help you find someone who is.

  • We charge $125 USD for a 60-minute session. If that is out of your reach, please contact us to discuss a sliding scale (that means we can reduce our prices based on your financial constraints).
